PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Gran Caffé L’Aquila, the new Italian café at 1716 Chestnut Street, specializes in coffee.

“The coffee is roasted on premise by Michele Morelli,” says founding partner Riccardo Longo. “He actually represented Italian coffee culture at the G8 summit a few years ago. He has won all the highest accolades from Gambero Rosso, which grades the quality of coffee.”

…and gelato.

“Stefano Biasini is the reigning Italian gelato champion,” Longo says. “And one of the innovative things he’s done is he’s been able to make a gelato that actually maintains the alcohol content in it; so we actually have gelato here that we need to card people on.”
