Gran Caffe L’Aquila

Owner Stefano Biasini, who’s won the World Cup of Gelato for his native Italy (and is competing on the U.S. team this year), is making a Mother’s Day gelato at Gran Caffe L’Aquila with white chocolate, orange blossom, and an Italian orange liqueur. The restaurant is also highlighting a different Italian city with a dedicated menu every week: For May 8-14 the focus is on Florence. The regular menu will be available, too — but the Florence one has crespelle all Fiorentina, a crepe filled with ricotta, parmesan, and spinach, topped with tomato sauce and a bit of bechamel.
