Description: A rare red grape produced near Rome. Very deeply colored: a mulberry-ruby. Nose has decent tang and a spiced complication to the dark cherry and fresh plum fruit. There’s a scent like warm soil; hints of nut and biscuits. Palate starts cool, with a nice purity of dark plum fruit. Almond tannin appears half way through, rears more upright, becomes drier and rich.
